Cooper: UK-funded tents have reached Gaza
London, 2 December (Hibya) – UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper announced that tents funded by the United Kingdom have entered Gaza, stating that shelter for 12,000 people is vital as weather conditions worsen. Cooper reiterated her call on Israel to allow more aid into the region.
Foreign Secretary Cooper announced that emergency tents funded by the UK for families in Gaza affected by the conflict have arrived in the area. In a social media post, she noted that weather conditions are rapidly deteriorating and stressed that the provision of shelter for 12,000 people is a vital form of support.
Cooper emphasized that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is “critical,” repeating her call on Israel to allow far more aid in and to immediately open all crossings and humanitarian corridors.
The UK stated that it is increasing its support for the ongoing humanitarian crisis, including shelter, food, and medical supplies.
