EU leaders: Ukraine's sovereignty must be guaranteed
Brussels, December 9 (Hibya) – European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa said on Monday that Ukraine’s sovereignty must be respected and that the country needs long-term security guarantees in any future peace agreement with Russia.
This message was shared in coordinated posts on social media following a meeting in Brussels with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
The messages stated: “Ukraine’s sovereignty must be respected. Ukraine’s security must be guaranteed in the long term as the first line of defence for our union.”
