Tom Fletcher, the UN Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief, stated that they have moved on to the next phase of their field visits in Darfur.

Fletcher said that they set off early in the morning toward Tawila and thanked the Save the Children team for their hospitality. He added: “We set out early again for the next phase of our mission in Darfur. I thank our friends at Save the Children in Golo for hosting us. Ahead lies a six-hour journey to Tawila; we need to deliver far more life-saving support, humanitarian presence, and protection to the survivors.”
