Guterres: Humanitarian aid must never be used as a weapon
New York, 14 November (Hibya) – United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stated that humanitarian aid capacity is overstretched, underfunded, and continuously under attack.
Guterres noted that humanitarian capacity is severely strained, insufficiently funded, and constantly targeted, adding that funding has dropped by nearly 50 percent.
He emphasized that this decline has led to disruptions putting millions at risk, saying: “Refugees and host communities deserve far better in a world where limitless resources are spent on wars.”
Guterres stressed that humanitarian aid must never be used as a weapon.
