IDF: Attempted weapons smuggling on western border foiled
Jerusalem, November 2 (Hibya) – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that soldiers had foiled an attempted weapons smuggling operation on the western border.
In a statement, the IDF said that surveillance units detected an unmanned aerial vehicle attempting to infiltrate Israeli territory from the west as part of a weapons smuggling attempt.
Following detection, the teams shot down the drone and seized its cargo, which contained eight pistols. “The seized weapons were handed over to the authorities for inspection and processing by security forces,” the statement said.
