Italian Defense Minister Crosetto reacts to university decision
Rome, 29 November (Hibya) — Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto emphasized that officers will protect citizens under all circumstances, responding to the University of Bologna’s refusal to open a bachelor’s program for certain army officers.
Crosetto reacted to the decision of professors at the University of Bologna who declined to launch a bachelor’s program for a group of Italian Army officers. He stated that despite the professors’ concerns, the rejected officers are always ready to defend the citizens and the country.
The minister added: “These officers who were denied today will be ready tomorrow — and always — to defend you. I hope that if such a situation arises, the professors will at least morally stand with the Armed Forces.” Crosetto emphasized that under the constitution, officers are obliged to ensure the security of every citizen.
