European Commission President Leyen congratulated Andrej Babis on his appointment as Prime Minister of the Czech Republic.

Noting that the European Union is facing increasing challenges, Leyen said, “Your country plays an important role in advancing our European agenda of prosperity and security. I look forward to working with you, including at the upcoming European Council meeting.”

European Council President Antonio Costa also shared a message saying, “We congratulate Andrej Babis on taking office as Prime Minister of the Czech Republic. I look forward to our cooperation in the European Council and to working together on our shared agenda for the benefit of European citizens.”
