Metsola: The death of innocent people cannot be normalized
European Parliament President Roberta Metsola issued a statement following Russia’s intense and indiscriminate overnight bombardment of Kyiv.
Metsola stressed that residential areas were targeted and expressed sorrow for the civilian casualties.
“My thoughts are with all the victims, including children, and their families,” she said, noting that Russia’s “illegal war” had once again taken innocent lives.
Metsola emphasized that Europe would not remain indifferent: “We will not allow indifference to take hold, and we will never accept the normalization of aggression.”
