Orban: Peace in Europe will be achieved through negotiations, not sanctions
Budapest, 14 November (Hibya) – Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated that peace in Europe will be achieved through negotiations, not sanctions, adding that Brussels’ attempt to impose this under the label of “trade policy” while ignoring Hungary’s veto is unacceptable.
Orban emphasized that Hungary firmly opposes EU sanctions on Russian energy sources, saying that this stance protects their sovereignty and citizens.
He noted, “Peace in Europe will be achieved through negotiations, not sanctions. Brussels’ attempt to impose this as ‘trade policy’ while disregarding our veto is unacceptable.”
Orban underlined that they will pursue legal avenues and continue defending Hungary’s interests.
