Saar: The decision to close the Israeli Embassy in Dublin is the most correct and just one
Jerusalem, 29 November (Hibya) – Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar stated that Dublin has become a center of global antisemitism, defending Israel’s decision to close its embassy there.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said that the decision to close the Israeli Embassy in Dublin, made shortly after he assumed office, is “the most correct and just decision.” Saar argued that Ireland has an antisemitic and anti-Israel obsession, calling it “disgusting.”
He criticized the Dublin Municipality’s decision to remove the name of Israel’s sixth President, Chaim Herzog, from a park, reminding that Herzog grew up in Dublin and that his father served as Ireland’s Chief Rabbi. Saar added: “What cannot be removed is the shame of Ireland’s antisemitic and anti-Israel obsession.”
