Schoof issues statement after Groningen earthquake
Amsterdam, 14 November (Hibya) – Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof released a message of support to the people of Groningen following the strong earthquake that occurred overnight.
Schoof noted that the earthquake caused significant fear in the region, adding that this shows the effects of gas extraction on Groningen are still ongoing.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the government continues its efforts with determination, including reinforcement works, damage assessment, compensation procedures, and improving the region’s economic future. Schoof stated: “We continue our work without interruption for all Groningers.”
