Stockholm, November 14 (Hibya) – According to a report published on its website, the messaging app Telegram blocked more than 500 thousand groups and channels in a single day — the highest figure since early February.
Data published on Telegram’s website shows that the app has blocked 2,810,095 groups and channels since the beginning of November. On Thursday, November 13 alone, this number reached 519,645.
This means the number exceeded 500 thousand — the highest figure since February 5, when 490,433 posts were blocked.
Telegram states that since 2015, moderation has included user reports and machine-learning–based monitoring, and that earlier in 2024 these efforts were strengthened with new AI-based moderation tools.
