UN Secretary-General Guterres issues a call to Israel
New York, December 9 (Hibya) – United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on Israel to immediately take all necessary steps to restore, protect, and preserve the inviolability of UNRWA facilities, and to refrain from any further actions concerning these facilities.
Guterres strongly condemned the unauthorized entry of Israeli authorities into the Sheikh Jarrah compound belonging to UNRWA in occupied East Jerusalem.
He stated that the compound is inviolable and immune from any intervention: “I call on Israel to immediately take all necessary measures to restore, protect, and preserve the inviolability of UNRWA facilities, and to refrain from any additional actions regarding these sites.”
