Petr Klement appointed Director-General of the European Anti-Fraud Office
Prague, November 4 (Hibya) – Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala announced that the European Commission has appointed Czech candidate Petr Klement as the new Director-General of the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF).
Fiala stated that, according to the European Commission’s decision, Petr Klement has been appointed Director-General of the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF).
He emphasized that the Czech candidate succeeded despite strong competition and will be the first Czech citizen to hold this important position. “This once again shows that the Czech Republic has qualified candidates to offer to the European Union,” Fiala said.
The Prime Minister stressed that this appointment is the result of the Czech Republic’s efforts to strengthen its position as a modern, pro-European country, noting that his nation effectively defends its interests in Brussels and participates in key decision-making processes in Europe.
