The ministry stated that in a phone conversation between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, it was emphasized that Moscow is ready to facilitate efforts to resolve the situation surrounding Iran's nuclear program and to ease the conflict between Iran and Israel.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said: “The readiness to continue facilitating efforts to resolve the situation surrounding the Iranian nuclear program and to reduce tensions between Iran and Israel was confirmed.”

The conversation took place at the initiative of the Iranian side, as a continuation of the phone call held on June 13 between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. “The Russian side reiterated its condemnation of Israel's military action against Iran, carried out in violation of the UN Charter and international law,” the ministry said.

The statement also said that Lavrov expressed his condolences to his Iranian counterpart for the numerous casualties, including civilians, resulting from the attacks on Iranian territory. “It was agreed to continue contacts on this matter, including discussions at the UN Security Council, the IAEA Board of Governors, and within the SCO and BRICS,” the ministry said.
