EU Commission President von der Leyen congratulates Japan’s first female Prime Minister
Brussels, October 21 (Hibya) – European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen congratulated Sanae Takaichi on being elected as Japan’s first female Prime Minister.
In a social media post, von der Leyen wrote, “You are making history as Japan’s first female Prime Minister.”
Congratulating Takaichi, von der Leyen said she looks forward to working closely together to further strengthen the unique partnership between the EU and Japan.
The EU Commission President also wrote, “For our shared competitiveness and our shared security,” highlighting the importance of the strategic cooperation between both sides.
