Ghebreyesus: We can prevent 2.8 million deaths within 5 years
Geneva, July 28 (Hibya) – WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated on World Hepatitis Day that if action is taken now, 2.8 million deaths could be prevented over the next 5 years.
Ghebreyesus noted that every 30 seconds, one person dies from severe liver disease or liver cancer caused by hepatitis.
He emphasized that if we act now, 2.8 million deaths could be avoided in the next five years.
