A post on the Telegram channel stated, “Explosion sounds were heard once again in Kyiv.”

The head of Kyiv’s military administration, Tymur Tkachenko, said, “The death toll in the capital has risen to two,” while other city officials reported a major drone attack.

Air raid sirens were heard across Ukraine. Explosions were also reported in the regions of Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Cherkasy, Odesa, and Sumy.

According to the military administration, oil and gas facilities were damaged in the Myrhorod district of the Poltava region, while energy and port infrastructure were damaged in Izmail, Odesa region.

Local governor Volodymyr Kohut said the attacks in eastern Poltava damaged oil and gas facilities.

Russia’s intense overnight assault came after Ukraine announced it had struck chemical facilities in Russia’s Bryansk region.

In recent weeks, Russia has significantly increased the number and intensity of its attacks on Ukraine’s energy system, targeting both power plants and gas facilities.
