Putin spoke with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un
Moscow, August 12 (Hibya) - Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation with the Chairman of State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Kim Jong-un.
Putin congratulated the North Korean leader on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation from Japanese colonial rule, which will be celebrated on August 15.
The two sides reaffirmed their determination to develop friendship, good-neighborly relations, and cooperation in all areas, in accordance with the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty signed on June 19, 2024, in Pyongyang.
Putin highly praised North Korea's support and the courage, heroism, and dedication shown by its soldiers during the liberation of the Kursk Region from the forces of the Kyiv regime.
The Russian leader also informed Kim Jong-un about his upcoming talks with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Putin and Kim Jong-un agreed to maintain their personal contacts.
