The Netherlands reiterates its international call for journalists’ safety
Amsterdam, November 2 (Hibya) – The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that journalism in conflict zones is becoming increasingly deadly and emphasized the importance of holding perpetrators accountable.
“It has been a deadly year for journalism in conflict zones. In nine out of ten cases of journalists being killed worldwide, the perpetrators go unpunished. This must change,” the Dutch Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
On the occasion of the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists, the Ministry reaffirmed the Netherlands’ unwavering commitment to ending impunity for crimes committed against journalists.
