US President Donald Trump arrives in Tel Aviv
Stockholm, October 13 (Hibya) – US President Donald Trump has arrived in Tel Aviv and is attending a welcoming ceremony at Ben Gurion Airport.
Later, President Donald Trump will deliver a speech at the Knesset.
Events are being held in Israel and Egypt to mark President Trump’s Middle East tour and to celebrate the first phase of the Gaza peace plan.
Israeli police announced that security has been heightened due to Trump’s visit, with “thousands of police officers and Border Police” deployed along key routes. Trump was welcomed by Israeli President Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Trump is also expected to meet with the families of hostages at the Knesset. The visit coincides with the deadline set for the release of all remaining Israeli hostages in Gaza.
After leaving Israel, Trump will travel to Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, where he will co-chair a world leaders’ summit with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi aimed at achieving lasting peace in the region.
