WHO: Climate change threatens our health
Geneva, November 2 (Hibya) – The World Health Organization (WHO) highlighted the impact of climate change on health and announced five interventions that could save around 2 million lives each year.
The WHO stated that climate change poses a serious threat to human health, noting that with proper measures, approximately 2 million lives could be saved annually.
The organization listed as key actions the establishment of heat-health warning systems, the use of clean and green energy in health facilities, protection of water and sanitation services, a shift to clean household energy, and ending dependence on fossil fuels. WHO officials emphasized that these steps are vital in combating the climate crisis and protecting public health.
