Yuri Ushakov: The ceasefire proposed by the US is just a "temporary respite" for Ukraine
Moscow, March 13 (Hibya) - Kremlin's senior foreign policy advisor Yuri Ushakov stated that the ceasefire proposed by the US is just a "temporary respite" for Ukraine and "mimics peace actions".
Presidential advisor Yuri Ushakov said he continues to hold regular phone calls with US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and summarized Russia's position on resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
Key points from Ushakov's speech:
"Russia wants a long-term solution that considers its interests and concerns; the proposed ceasefire is nothing more than a temporary break for Ukrainian forces; no one needs steps that mimic 'peace actions'; Ukraine's NATO membership cannot be discussed in the context of crisis resolution; Russia hopes that the US will consider its demands".
Ushakov also stated that he conveyed his concerns to the US negotiators.
