President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine’s air defense has been reinforced with Patriot components. He said that this step was taken to protect people from Russian attacks, adding: “I thank Germany and personally Chancellor Friedrich Merz for this joint step taken to protect people from Russian terror.”

Zelensky emphasized that the strengthening of air defense had been planned for a long time and that the agreements reached are now being implemented. The president noted that Russia, unable to achieve its military goals, is trying to compensate for its failures through terror, and therefore, strengthening air defense brings the end of the war closer.

“Together with our partners, we continue to build a reliable air defense system. Our capabilities will ensure the security not only of Ukraine but also of our partners when necessary. Since our security is indivisible, our air defense must protect all of us,” Zelensky said.

He added that steps to strengthen air defense are continuing at the governmental level and through ongoing discussions with system manufacturers, expressing confidence that further results will be achieved.
