Albares stated that they are further strengthening their excellent relations with Iceland, saying: “We are friendly nations; allies in NATO and in the European Economic Area. We are committed to peace, multilateralism, human rights and gender equality.”

He said that together with Iceland’s Foreign Minister Katrin Gunnarsdottir, they continue to work on further strengthening these relations.

Albares welcomed the opening of the Icelandic Embassy in Madrid, saying: “This strengthens our ties even more. We are reinforcing democratic values, the fight for equality, security, trade and tourism.”
