Istanbul, August 19 (Hibya) - Stock markets across the Asia-Pacific region continued the day mostly lower, while Chinese and Hong Kong indexes outperformed and remained in positive territory.

In Japan, the Nikkei 225 Index fell 1,938.73 points, or 2.87 percent, to 65,522.00 points. During the day, the index reached a high of 66,242.00 and a low of 65,134.00 points.
In South Korea, the KOSPI Index dropped 359.41 points, or 5.23 percent, to 6,510.42 points. Intraday trading saw a high of 6,614.39 and a low of 6,400.81 points.
In India, the Nifty 50 Index fell 95.05 points, or 0.39 percent, to 24,059.85 points. The index traded between 24,051.15 and 24,172.85 points throughout the day.
In Australia, the S&P/ASX 200 Index declined 21.40 points, or 0.24 percent, to 9,048.60 points, while intraday trading saw a high of 9,070.00 and a low of 9,019.50 points.
In Indonesia, the IDX Composite Index fell 36.75 points, or 0.57 percent, to 6,413.08 points; Malaysia's KLCI Index lost 3.86 points, or 0.22 percent, to 1,729.50 points; and Thailand's SET Index declined 8.62 points, or 0.53 percent, to 1,613.00 points.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index rose 44.85 points, or 0.18 percent, to 25,516.00 points, while the FTSE China 50 Index gained 103.71 points, or 0.65 percent, to 16,133.29 points.
