Azerbaijan and UAE sign economic partnership agreement
Abu Dhabi, July 9 (Hibya) – President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the meeting, the parties emphasized the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the UAE, based on friendship and brotherhood.
The two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations, with special focus on successful cooperation in the energy sector, particularly in renewable energy. Possible joint projects in this area were also discussed.
The importance of the Economic Cooperation Organization Summit held in the city of Khankendi was highlighted, and satisfaction was expressed over the UAE’s high-level participation.
Following the discussions, the “Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the United Arab Emirates” was signed in the presence of both presidents.
