Azerbaijan protests Russia after damage to its Embassy in Kyiv
Stockholm, November 15 (Hibya) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan announced that it summoned the Russian ambassador on Friday to deliver a “strong protest” after the country’s embassy in Kyiv was damaged in a Russian airstrike.
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry stated that Russian missiles fell on the embassy grounds, causing an explosion that damaged embassy facilities and service vehicles.
The statement said: “During the meeting, it was emphasized that such attacks on our diplomatic missions are unacceptable, and the Russian side was urged to conduct the necessary investigation and provide a detailed explanation.”
The statement also noted that as a result of the airstrike carried out by Russia on January 2, 2024, with a ‘Kinzhal’ missile, a crater approximately three meters in diameter was formed about 35 steps from the embassy’s administrative building, and unexploded ordnance was found at a depth of eight meters below ground.
