Tehran, April 18 (Hibya) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei released a message on the occasion of the Army Day of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In his message, Baghaei said: "29 Farvardin, the Army Day of the Islamic Republic of Iran, recalls the bravery of military personnel who heroically defended Iran’s borders against attacks by American warships in the Persian Gulf on the first day of Ramadan in 1988 (1367 in the Iranian calendar). Happy Army Day. Let us honor with respect the memory of the 56 heroes martyred aboard the Sahand, Sabalan, and Joshon warships, as well as all the martyrs of the armed forces."
