Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys emphasized the importance of Europe keeping its promises to Ukraine and stated that economic pressure on Russia must be intensified without compromise.

Evaluating the new package, Budrys said: “Europe has finally kept its word. The long-awaited 20th sanctions package is another step to force Russia to stop its aggression against Ukraine.”

Calling for deeper sanctions, Budrys stated: “The EU must now move quickly; impose a ban on maritime services, sanction Lukoil, Rosatom and other energy giants. No more exceptions.”

Stressing that pressure is essential for a diplomatic solution, Budrys added: “Maximum sanctions pressure is our strongest leverage to force Putin to take negotiations seriously.”
