Budrys: We cannot remain silent in the face of Russia’s aggression
New York, September 22 (Hibya) - Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys, ahead of the 81st United Nations General Assembly, drew attention to Russia’s aggression and violations of international law, calling for the defense of sovereignty and accountability.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys issued a statement on his social media account ahead of the start of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Budrys said Lithuania’s message is that the world cannot remain silent in the face of Russia’s ongoing aggression, serious violations of international law and attempts to change borders by force.
Budrys stated that protecting the United Nations Charter, defending sovereignty and ensuring accountability are shared responsibilities, adding that investment is needed in diplomacy that will deliver a just and lasting peace.
Budrys said the future of global security depends on the determination of countries to act together.
