El-Houthi: We are ready for military intervention if developments require it
Sana'a, March 27 (Hibya) - Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, the leader of the Houthi movement in Yemen, announced that depending on the course of the conflicts in the Middle East, they could move to direct military action and that they continue to maintain strong ties with Iran on the basis of “mutual loyalty.”
According to CCTV, speaking on El-Masirah TV, the Houthi leader underlined that a regional escalation would be a direct reason for intervention by his forces.
Iranian military sources stated that if enemy forces launch a ground operation against Iran’s islands or mainland, a new front would be opened in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait controlled by the Houthis.
A Houthi official who asked not to be named said that the group is currently ready for “all options,” is monitoring developments moment by moment, and will act at the appropriate time.
Although the Houthi side has provided political support to Iran since the start of the U.S.-Israel operations on February 28, it has not yet entered into direct armed conflict.
