First direct flight from Moscow to Pyongyang, capital of North Korea, takes place
Moscow, July 28 (Hibya) – The first direct flight from Moscow to Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea, has taken place.
The plane was welcomed with an official ceremony in the North Korean capital. Flowers were presented to the Russian delegation led by Minister of Natural Resources Aleksandr Kozlov and the crew.
A Nordwind Boeing 777-200ER with 440 seats landed at Pyongyang Airport at 09:30 local time.
The aircraft departed from Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport on Sunday at 19:30, and the flight took about eight hours. All announcements during the flight were made in Russian and Korean.
The return flight is scheduled for July 29 at 09:00 local time (03:00 Moscow time).
