Fletcher: Where access improves, hunger declines
New York, November 5 (Hibya) – UN Humanitarian and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher said famine has been confirmed in Sudan’s El Fasher and Kadugli regions, noting that hunger is declining where access has improved.
UN Humanitarian and Emergency Relief Coordinator Fletcher stated that the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification confirmed famine in Sudan’s El Fasher and Kadugli regions.
He added: “Where access improves, hunger declines. However, the gains remain limited and fragile. We now need full access.”
