Italian Foreign Minister Tajani: We will work to ensure lasting peace in the Middle East
Rome, October 13 (Hibya) – Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said regarding the recent developments in the Middle East that the release of some Israeli hostages is “a new ray of hope after two years of terrible events.”
Tajani described this development, which came after the ceasefire in Gaza, as “a fragile but important step in the process of turning war into peace.”
Emphasizing that the peace process is still full of uncertainties, Tajani said: “As governments and peoples of Europe, together with our friends in the Arab world, we must work every day to make peace permanent.”
Tajani stressed that Italy will play an active role in this process, adding: “We will work with determination so that the principle of ‘two peoples, two states’ does not remain an empty slogan. Italy will sincerely and faithfully contribute to achieving peace based on respect and security for both peoples.”
