Kallas: We are witnessing a rare moment of hope in the Middle East
Brussels, October 13 (Hibya) – The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, described the release of the hostages as “a major diplomatic achievement and a critical turning point on the road to peace.”
Kallas said: “Today we are witnessing a rare moment of hope in the Middle East. The release of the hostages is an important victory for diplomacy. This breakthrough was made possible thanks to the efforts of President Trump.”
She emphasized that achieving lasting peace in Gaza will be an extremely complex process, noting that strong international support is essential for the success of the peace plan.
Kallas also announced that the European Union is ready to contribute to the peace process and will relaunch its civilian mission to monitor the border crossing between Gaza and Egypt on Wednesday.
