Pakistan prepares for the OIC Women’s Conference to be held in 2026
Islamabad, October 22 (Hibya) – Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, chaired a meeting to review preparations for the 9th Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ministerial Conference on Women, scheduled to be held in Pakistan in early 2026.
During the meeting, Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to ensuring the success of the upcoming conference, emphasizing the importance of advancing women’s empowerment and promoting gender equality within the OIC framework. He also highlighted Pakistan’s active role in promoting gender equality and stressed the need for close cooperation with the OIC to achieve these shared objectives.
The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Justice and Information Technology & Telecommunications, the Special Assistants to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs and Tariq Bajwa, the Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the OIC, as well as senior officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Human Rights, and Information.
