Palestinian Foreign Ministry Calls for an End to Demolitions in the West Bank
Ramallah, March 15 (Hibya) - The Palestinian Foreign Ministry has called for international action to stop the ongoing demolitions of homes in refugee camps in the northern West Bank.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stated that Israel’s large-scale demolitions of homes in refugee camps in Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nur Shams, along with the forced displacement of over 40,000 Palestinian citizens, especially during Ramadan, amount to ethnic cleansing and forced displacement. It is also part of the occupation’s plans to control and annex the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
The ministry called on all countries, international organizations, fact-finding and investigation committees, special rapporteurs, UN Deputy Secretaries-General, and all international parties to intervene in a serious and effective manner to end the suffering of the Palestinian people and compel Israel to adhere to the international will for peace.
