In a statement, the ministry stressed that the decision constitutes a clear violation of international law, human rights conventions, and Israel’s obligations as an occupying power.

The statement said the Israeli decision and practices are unlawful and arbitrary, and form part of a systematic, racist political campaign against the Palestinian people and their officials, aimed at collective punishment, exerting pressure on individuals and institutions, and particularly targeting Jerusalemite figures.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates called on the international community—especially the United Nations and relevant institutions—to assume their responsibilities in the face of these violations that contradict international agreements and legitimate resolutions, and demanded urgent and effective intervention to protect Jerusalemites and the Palestinian people.
