Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemns raid on Al-Aqsa Mosque
Ramallah, April 7 (Hibya) - The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the raid by Israeli Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir on Al-Aqsa Mosque and called for the reopening of holy sites for worship.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry issued a statement regarding Ben-Gvir’s entry into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque under heavy protection by occupying forces and the continued closure of the holy site for 39 days.
The statement included the following:
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemns the storming of the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by the extremist minister in the occupation government, Itamar Ben-Gvir, under heavy protection of occupation forces, and the continued closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque for the thirty-ninth day by military forces, as a provocation to the feelings of Palestinians, peoples of the world, and believers".
The statement emphasized that the attack is part of a systematic policy, stating: "The Ministry affirms that this assault is part of a systematic Israeli policy managed at the level of the occupation government, aimed at imposing faits accomplis and undermining the status quo in East Jerusalem, particularly at Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre".
