Power outages in Cuba affected social life
Havana, March 23 (Hibya) - The United States’ “maximum pressure” policy and energy blockade are causing serious disruptions to basic social services and daily life in Cuba.
According to CCTV, on the island where fuel imports have nearly come to a halt for three months, prolonged power outages are creating difficulties in transportation, food preservation, and healthcare services.
According to official data, long delays in public transportation and the shutdown of elevators have limited citizens’ access to essential goods and medicines.
Cuban local sources reported that due to energy shortages, many families have returned to using coal and firewood for cooking. It was also stated that restrictions have affected the education sector, with students’ academic performance and social development impacted by existing infrastructure problems.
Statements emphasized that external pressures are worsening the humanitarian situation across the country and paralyzing logistical processes.
