Prevot: We are advancing cooperation with Türkiye on security, justice and migration
Brussels, October 20 (Hibya) - Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot stated that a trilateral meeting attended by seven ministers from each of Türkiye and Belgium focused on developing economic and political cooperation.
Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot stated that a trilateral meeting involving Turkish and Belgian ministers was held in Brussels. The meeting, held for the first time in ten years, brought together seven ministers from each country.
Prevot stated that Belgium regards Türkiye as a strategic partner, noting that the two countries aim to work together on shared issues while maintaining open dialogue on areas of disagreement.
Prevot recalled that approximately 200 Belgian companies participated in an economic mission to Türkiye earlier this year, during which 33 agreements were signed. He said today's discussions had further advanced political cooperation between the two countries.
Emphasizing that Türkiye is an important NATO ally, a major economic partner and an influential diplomatic actor in Ukraine, the Black Sea, the Middle East and Africa, Prevot stated that a modernized European Union-Türkiye Customs Union could create new opportunities for businesses, employment and prosperity.
