Qatar and Egypt confirm continuation of mediation efforts
Cairo, July 25 (Hibya) – Qatar and Egypt confirmed that they are continuing their intensive efforts in the mediation file regarding the Gaza Strip.
According to a statement by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State of Qatar and the Arab Republic of Egypt confirmed that they are continuing intensive mediation efforts to reach an agreement that would end the war in the Gaza Strip, alleviate humanitarian suffering in the region, ensure the protection of civilians, and facilitate the exchange of detainees and prisoners.
The two countries stated that some progress had been made during the most recent three-week round of intensive negotiations and noted that suspending talks for consultations prior to resuming dialogue is a normal procedure in the context of such complex negotiations.
Both states called on the public not to be influenced by leaks published by some media outlets aimed at undermining these efforts and affecting the course of the negotiation process.
