Qatar Welcomes Canadian and Maltese Prime Ministers’ Intent to Recognize Palestine
Doha, July 31 (Hibya) – Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the State of Qatar welcomed statements by the Prime Ministers of Canada and Malta regarding their intent to recognize the State of Palestine.
According to the Ministry’s statement, the State of Qatar welcomed the announcement made by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and Maltese Prime Minister Dr. Robert Abela expressing their countries’ intention to recognize the State of Palestine.
The statement added: “Qatar considers this a positive step in line with international legitimacy and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, and views it as an important development in support of the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people.”
