Canadian Prime Minister Carney: We remain committed to CUSMA
Ottawa, August 1 (Hibya) – Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that Canada will remain committed to CUSMA, the world’s second-largest free trade agreement by trade volume.
Carney stated that U.S. President Donald Trump had announced an increase of customs duties up to 35% on Canadian exports not covered by the Canada–United States–Mexico Agreement (CUSMA).
"Although the Canadian government is disappointed by this decision, we remain committed to CUSMA, the world’s second-largest free trade agreement by trade volume," Carney said.
