At the European Political Community summit held in Tirana, the capital of Albania, Schoof met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He said, “Ukraine can count on the Netherlands’ political, military, and financial support for as long as it needs. I made this commitment clear to President Zelensky.”

Prime Minister Schoof noted that during the meeting, Zelensky shared updates on the latest developments between Russia and Ukraine, and said that a multinational effort is underway to achieve lasting peace. Emphasizing that the first step in this process is a ceasefire, he added, “Pressure on Russia must continue uninterrupted. For the security of Europe as well, we will not leave Ukraine alone.”
