Prime Minister Starmer announced today that US and UK companies have made significant new commitments to turbocharge nuclear energy in the country.

Starmer stated that in the long term they are cutting energy bills and providing thousands of jobs.

The agreements between US and UK companies were made possible by a new deal between the US and UK governments, expected to be signed during this week’s state visit. This deal will accelerate the construction of new nuclear power plants in both countries.

According to new statistics from the Nuclear Industry Association, the agreement paves the way for a major expansion of new nuclear projects in the UK, where government-led investments have already created 11,000 new jobs this year.
