Sybiha: Russian attacks left more than 600 thousand people without electricity
Kyiv, October 14 (Hibya) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that civilians lost their lives and more than 600,000 people were left without electricity in Russian attacks targeting energy infrastructure.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, in his statement, thanked the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE PA) and Joan Pons Pere for their support to Ukraine. Sybiha stated that Russia's attacks on energy infrastructure resulted in civilian casualties and widespread power outages.
Sybiha argued that Russia responded to calls for a ceasefire in the energy sector with missile and drone strikes. He stated that instead of easing sanctions on Russia, stronger sanctions should be imposed and existing sanctions must be monitored more rigorously.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister noted that his country needs more air defense systems and interceptor missiles to protect civilians and critical infrastructure.
