Temperatures above 20 degrees and Northern Lights delight residents of East Iceland
Reykjavik, October 13 (Hibya) – Yesterday, temperatures in East Iceland unusually exceeded 20 degrees. Residents of the region said the warmth was unusual for this time of year but felt like a pleasant summer bonus.
The warm and mild weather affected the people of East Iceland yesterday, especially in the northeast. While temperatures in the east rose above 20 degrees, the western parts of the country saw rain and fog.
Local resident Gudny Olafsdottir said the warmth in mid-October was a wonderful summer gift. The Northern Lights also appeared last night.
