Trump: NATO is making a foolish mistake
Washington, March 17 (Hibya) - U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the operation carried out to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons averted a global catastrophe and criticized NATO allies who did not support the operation.
U.S. President Donald Trump made remarks regarding the threat posed by the Iranian regime and the stance of allies.
Stating that 41,000 people were killed during protests in Iran, Trump said: "They chose not to help, and we as America will not forget this," expressing criticism toward some allies.
Praising support from Middle Eastern countries, Trump said: "We received a lot of support from Middle Eastern countries. Qatar was great, the UAE was really very good, and Saudi Arabia was also great. Israel also provided extremely strong support from the very beginning."
Arguing that his stance on Iran being a nuclear threat has been proven right, Trump said: "If they had nuclear weapons, they would have used them within 24 hours. If we had not struck them 8 months ago, there would have been a nuclear war. If I had not ended the worst deal in history signed by Barack Obama, there would have been a nuclear holocaust 4 years ago."
Calling NATO countries' stance "foolish," Trump said: "They all agreed that Iran is a major threat. When they say 'Iran is a big threat but we will not help you,' that is very foolish. If anyone says Iran is not a threat, we do not want to work with them."
Trump emphasized that with U.S. intervention, Iran is no longer in a position to threaten the world.
